Julia Fischer starts 2025 with a tour through Austria and Germany, performing with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) under the direction of Chief Conductor Vasily Petrenko. She will interpret two major violin concertos: those by Tchaikovsky and Sibelius. For a long time, she has enjoyed working with the orchestra and its chief conductor.
Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto is a work for which Julia Fischer has long been celebrated: "Fresh, captivating, and full of energy ... with a wide range of tonal colors and a fantastic technique. Her Tchaikovsky sounds soulful and romantic without becoming overly sentimental." (BR Klassik)
Speaking about Sibelius' Violin Concerto, one of her favourites, Julia Fischer says: "The art lies in bringing in the aspect of nature". The ever-changing moods of nature shape the unique energy and exceptional tonal colors of this late-Romantic concerto.
