Italian conductor Giuseppe Sinopoli had sent me the score of Respighi’s Poema autunnale in 1999. He planned a Respighi CD and wanted this piece to be part. I was 16 years old, and was looking forward to this opportunity to learn a piece by a composer, that I had never heard before.
