Britten's concerto will be on Julia Fischer's agenda in April with the SWR Symphonieorchester and Thomas Søndergård in Stuttgart, Mainz and Freiburg (April 12-15). The work was performed for the first time in 1940 in New York and is now a classics of modern violin literature.
