After the club platform started off with the sonatas by Ysaÿe, Julia Fischer has meanwhile recorded the Sonata in A major by César Franck together with pianist Aris Alexander Blettenberg. "Franck managed to write both parts, piano and violin, very rewardingly. It is a constant give and take, and you feel like in a conversation with your partner." said Julia Fischer in a dialogue with the pianist. "I have played the sonata on both instruments and it is totally fascinating how much I actually like to play it on both instruments. Another point is the beauty of the melodies, and there is just a lot of that in this sonata. They are in the starkest contrast - in the last movement you really have the feeling of being in heaven, whereas in the second and third movements you clearly experience the chasms of life."
