Julia Fischer debuts at the Salzburg Easter Festival with Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra

Coming spring Julia Fischer performs for the first time at Salzburg Easter Festival - and debuts with Berlin Philharmonic. Under Sir Simon Rattle she plays the violin concert a-minor by Glazunow. New CD and DVD in August

Two new recordings of Julia Fischer come out on 20th of August by her label Decca. On the one hand the 24 caprices of Niccolò Paganini, on the other hand a DVD with a concert recording of Alte Oper Frankfurt when she performed not only as a violinist but also as a pianist. She played with the Young German Philharmony under the baton of Matthias Pintscher the third violin concerto of Saint-Saëns and the Grieg piano concerto. Included is a film portrait.

Mozart-Cycle at Concertgebouw and at Alte Oper Frankfurt

End of April/ beginning of May Julia Fischer plays the complete cylce of the Mozart violin concertos at Concertgebouw Amsterdam and then at the Alte Oper Frankfurt in respectively three concerts with the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra and Yakov Kreizberg. Moreover, she performs the Sinfonia Concertante together with the well-known alto player Antoine Tamestit.

On Bach-Solo-Tour in Europe

In February and March Julia Fischer plays Bach's solo sonatas and partitas in the big concert halls in Europe. The tour starts on 13th and 14th of February in London Wigmore Hall, among the other concert places are Munich, Vienna, Hamburg, Paris, Bruxelles, Zurich and Frankfurt.
A recording of the Bach sonatas and partitas played by Julia Fischer is available at PentaTone. More Bach has been released by the Decca last year: the concertos.

CD-release of the first part of the complete Schubert sonatas shortly

Julia Fischer has recorded the complete Schubert sonatas with pianist Martin Helmchen for the label PentaTone classics (PTC 5186 347). The first part with the first three sonatas and the Rondo brillant will be released on 25th of September. The second part follows in spring 2010.
Julia Fischer plays more chamber music of Schubert live: Together with Michael Sanderling, cello, the three musicians perform the piano trios no. 1 and 2 in December in Zürich, Ludwigsburg, Grünwald and Erlangen.

On European recital tour

Before Julia Fischer will be performing in the coming months in the United States and in Japan, she is now doing a series of recitals in selected European cities. Last week, she made an acclaimed tour start at Berlin together with her piano partner Milana Chernyavska. Further concerts follow in Hamburg, Brussels, Paris, Vienna and London.

On tour with the Academy playing Bach's Concertos

From 18th until 27th of January Julia Fischer is on tour with the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields. She will be playing the Bach concertos which are now being published in Europe by the label Decca. In Feburary will be another tour with the Academy through the USA.

Decca Signs German violinist Julia Fischer

Julia Fischer has signed an exclusive recording contract with the Decca Music Group. Her first album will be Bach: Concertos recorded with the Academy St. Martin in the Fields.

The fifth annual ceremony of the MIDEM Classical Awards 2009 will be held in January in Cannes. 124 labels from 23 countries have submitted. Among the special awards already announced are Julia Fischer and Philippe Jaroussky for Artists Of The Year.

Julia Fischer on recital tour in Germany

In early November Julia Fischer is on a recital tour through Germany with her piano partner Milana Chernyavska. The concerts take place a.o. in Baden-Baden, Dortmund and Hannover. The final of the tour will be in Wels, Austria, on 9th of November.

Two first prizes, one second prize at the International Commerzbank-Chambermusic Contest

On 14th of September ended the first Commerzbank-Chambermusic Contest in Frankfurt, Alte Oper. It will take place every two years and adresses young musicians. In this year, the category "piano trio" was admitted. At the head of this year's jury was Julia Fischer. Two first prizes (15 000 Euro) were given to the Dali Piano Trio from France and to the Sitkovetsky Trio from England. The second prize was given to the trio Monte from Germany.

In the season 2006/2007 with the entrance of Christoph Poppen as chief conductor of the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie Saaarbrücken Kaiserslautern, Julia Fischer played Brahms Double Concerto together with Daniel Müller-Schott. On 7th of September, 12 a.m., the concert will be broadcast by the Bayerische Fernsehen.
By the way, Julia Fischer has just performed wonderful concerts with Daniel Müller-Schott at Mecklenburg Vorpommern Festival this summer.

BBC Proms Debut

Julia Fischer will make her debut at the London BBC Proms on 4th of August. She will perform three pieces of Tschaikowsky aswell as a violin sonata of Grieg. The recital will take place at Cadogan Hall, London. The next day, she plays, this time with Yakov Kreizberg as conductor, the Brahms violin concerto with the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra in the Royal Albert Hall.

Julia Fischer head of selection committee of the Commerzbank-Chamber-Music-Contest

The International Commerzbank-Chamber-Music-Award will be assigned for the first time in cooperation with the Conservatory of Music Frankfurt and the Alte Oper. The final round will take place on 14th of September. Young piano trios will participate in this year's contest. Julia Fischer is head of the selection committee; further members are a.o. Daniel Müller-Schott and Yakov Kreizberg. Julia Fischer will perform with them in trio on 18th of September and will play a recital with Yakov Kreizberg on 20th of September. All these performances take place within Alte Oper's "Auftakt"-festival.
