Teaching

Julia Fischer is an enthusiastic teacher and looks after young talents and their advancement for a rather long time now. With many years of teaching experience already, the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts appointed Julia Fischer as Professor for Violin in 2006, at the age of 23 the youngest university professor in Germany then. Recently she moved on to the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts, where she took over the chair from her former teacher Ana Chumachenco starting with the 2011/2012 season.

Julia Fischer is not only committed to university, however. She also contributes to the project “Rhapsody in School” regularly. This initiative - founded by pianist Lars Vogt in 2005 - gets classical musicians into elementary and secondary schools throughout Germany in order to stimulate children's and adolescents' passion for classical music as well as for learning an own instrument.

Last but not least Julia Fischer enjoys teaching master classes, for instance during the “Music Holidays at Lake Starnberg” class once a year. This initiative of the Michael Roever foundation lasts one week and addresses young students in the fields of violin, violoncello and piano.
