Julia Fischer Quartet-Tour
In January Julia Fischer is on tour in Germany, Austria and Switzerland with her quartet. She will also play in a quintet at the Alte Oper Frankfurt – not only the violin, but also the piano.
The tour begins on 14 January in Graz, further concerts take place on 15 Jan in Musikverein Vienna, 16 Jan in Olten, 18 Jan in Tonhalle Zürich, 19 Jan in Berliner Philharmonie, and 26 Jan in Iserlohn. The program consists of works by Beethoven, Schumann and Schostakowitsch. A very special concert takes place on 25 January in Alte Oper Frankfurt: you can experience Julia Fischer as violinist and pianist – not with the orchestra as in 2008 with the Saint-Saëns Violin concerto and Grieg piano concerto, but with chamber music: she will play the piano, together with Daniel Müller-Schott, Nils Mönkemeyer, Benjamin Nyffenegger, and Andreas Janke, in Dvořák’s piano quintet A major and the violin in Schubert’s string quintet C major.

On 21st July Julia Fischer is playing the Dvorák violin concerto at BBC Proms, Royal Albert Hall London. At the same time, it is the good-bye concert of David Zinman as chief conductor of Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich.
However, for the coming season there is already a new project with Julia Fischer and David Zinman: Martinu violin concerto with the Czech Philharmonich Orchestra in Prague.
Concert with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France live on arte Concert
On June 19 Julia Fischer is performing with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and Myung-Whun Chung at the Festival de Saint-Denis. She plays the Mendelssohn violin concerto. For everyone who doesn't have the opportunity to be there: The concert is live on arte Concert at 8.30 p.m.!

Julia Fischer was 19 years old when she first performed at Carnegie Hall, at the time she played with Lorin Maazel and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra Sibelius' violin concerto. She regularily returned to this renowned concert place. On 15th of February she is back with the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra and Yuri Temirkanov playing Prokofiev's second violion concerto.
Spanish esprit: New CD presenting works of Pablo Sarasate
||A new disc of Julia Fischer just came out in February. Together with Milana Chernyavska she recorded works for violin and piano, op. 20-24 and 26-29, of Pablo Sarasate for Decca.

Julia Fischer steps in on 4th of October at Alte Oper Frankfurt - a concert place with which she is very familiar and where she is best known and affectionately welcome by its public. With the London Symphony Orchestra and Daniel Harding she is playing the Tschaikowsky violin concerto.

Julia Fischer comments the situation at German Music Conservatories (Musikhochschulen) against the background of a possible introduction of an enrolment fee for foreigners. Julia Fischer makes her debut with Vienna Philharmonic
Beginning of May Julia Fischer makes her debut with Vienna Philharmonic! Under the baton of Esa-Pekka Salonen she plays his own - Salonen's - and Beethoven's violin concerto. The first concert on 3rd of May takes place at the hall where the Beethoven concerto celebrated its world premiere: at Theater an der Wien (Vienna). On 5th of May follows a concert at the Philharmonie Luxembourg, the final concert is on 6th of May at Vienna's Musikverein.
